“ A terrific old fashioned diner located in downtown Franklin. Outstanding service and great food. Also has a bar if you would like an afternoon or evening cocktail. Can’t go wrong by having a meal here. ”
“ I have eaten at Fred’s since 1989 when I moved to town. It has consistently been very good. Normally I go for breakfast but have on occasion been to lunch or dinner. All was very good. The waitress staff is very friendly and attentive. I will continue to be a regular for hopefully many years to come. ”
“ Fred Fred Fred oh my goodness. Just passing through town because my son had court so we wanted to come to a town diner so I looked places up and Fred's was first on the list. We really didn't know what to expect being this was our first time coming here. But LAWD was this place so good. Service was A1 food came out fast and hot and the portions were great. Everything and I mean everything was good. I scrapped the plate clean and so did my son. The prices were great as well too. Definitely will come back here again and again. A ”
“ What a great place if you are looking for a real small town feel with all the comfort food you need. I had the largest helping of hamburger steak with mashed potatoes smothered with gravy and grilled onions. Amazing... But then I tried the breads that came with it. I was floored. I don't eat bread much but this roll was as delicate as a French pastry like a croissant. Then I tried the next one. Disappointed that I didn't get a second of the first roll I took the bite and couldn't believe how great the taste was. Pan fried cornbread... Dude!!! It was as incredible as the first roll. I had to say something. They gave me more of them to share with my wife when I got home. We loved them. The hospitality they provide to all their people was obvious. A person from a store next door comes in to tell the waitress about one of their regulars just sitting outside in their car not looking well. He is an older man so they went and checked in on him. It was definitely a real small town charm. The building itself is breathtaking if you enjoy historical preservation of 100 plus year old builds. Thanks again for such a yummy meal and such a huge portion. See you soon! ”
“ A very busy place at lunchtime. The food was awesome. I especially liked the real creamy homemade mashed potatoes and the greens were so tender they almost melt in your mouth. I wasn't impressed by my fried trout. Not much flavor. Maybe that's the way trout is. I'd definitely go back again. ”
“ What a quaint place! Love the atmosphere! Food was delicious! We ordered the pork tenderloin and open face turkey sandwich. AMAZING! Didn't have room for dessert but took a piece of coconut pie togo... yummy!!! Thank you for an amazing experience! ”
“ April 2025 If I lived closer, I would be here every other week if not every week. The Fried Chicken is delicious and only 11.00!!! Cooked just right. Juicy. Great flavored skin. Great Service. Jan 2025 Incredibly Friendly Server. She was so happy and great spirit about her and so friendly and kind to our group. The meals were so good we ordered second meals to go. ”
“ Small town place we stopped at during a rode trip. We were greeted immediately once we entered, coffee came out hot and fresh immediately. Nice Rustic design, fun atmosphere. Food was amazing; service was amazing. A must stop. ”
